GeekStream Online News: January 15th 2008: Right on the heels of the International Consumer Electronics Show, Macworld Expo Kicks off today in San Francisco. Some of the rumored announcements include an super sleek and portable notebook, unofficially nicknamed Macbook Air. Also rumors of a iTunes movie Rental store and an iPhone SDK. The keynote address led by Steve Jobs kicks off today at 9AM PST (12 EST) and as details are leaked we will keep our site updated. January 7th 2008: The much anticipated Consumer Electronics Show stared today from Las Vegas, NV. The exhibition features vendors from all different technology markets such as Microsoft, LG, Panasonic, Sony, and many many more showing their latest innovations and brand new products. January 1st 2008: Happy New Year to everyone. Another year brings a whole other year to bring you a better and better Geekstream. This year we have some major plans for this site including yet another overhaul, as you might have noticed, and we will be adding some more multimedia content in the next few months. Well don't bugger off to far.. Arrgh.. Just go to mi forums and post somethin' ye bildge rats!. September 5th: During an Apple news conference today Apple released an update to its iPod line up. A color change for the iPod Shuffle, New iPod nanos featuring video support a wider screen and shorter body, A renaming of the iPod to iPod Classic, along with that they have raised the capacity of the iPod Classic to 80GB and 160GB Both version now even thinner than previous models. Also the iPod classic now sports a metallic finish. But the real news comes in the new iPod Touch. Apple has taken the touch screen, cover flow and the rotate features of the iPhone and put them into the iPod. On top of that Apple has also added on a Wi-fi wireless networking feature. Now iPod Touch users can purchases songs right from their iPods without the need to synch to their computers first. August 28th: New to Geekstream, The Official Geekstream RSS News Feed. August 24th: The team at iPhoneSimfree.com have unlocked Apple's iPhone so it can be used with other providers aside from AT&T. The software, which is not available for download yet, will unlock the iPhone and has been tested with a T-Mobile sim Card. Read the full story at Engadget. June 11th: San Francisco, CA - Apple Hosts its annual World Wide Developers Conference. Along with vendors and developers from every major publisher, the conference gives all developers attending a chance to brush up on their skill sets, brainstorm with other programers, and share their applications and ideas. The conference is kicked off by a Keynote address by Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Within the address Jobs unveiled 10 new features of its upcoming operating system, Leopard. (Read more here)

Just to feed your curiosity here is an article from a wired blog showing what the new Macbook Air could look like http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/01/breaking-macboo.html. But this is all purely speculation and the imagination of people going wild. Many Apple reps said there could be something like that in the works but its not ready for a deubt at Macworld. Ok well then maybe Jobs will tease us with a little preview of it then. 9:30am (EST): We just checked the apple store and it is currently down for updates. That only can mean one thing, New Products! Perhaps the rumors of the Macbook Air are coming to life! Lets hope Apple put enough power into this slim marvel to make it worth while. Post Keynote:(EST): It is now about 1/2 hour after Steve Jobs' Macworld keynote speech. The dust has settled and Steve and his Apple crew brought forth an assortment of new products. First announced is an addition to its Airport Extreme wireless base station line, the Time Capsule. Equipped with a 500GB or 1TB hard drive the Time Capsule allows wireless Leopard computers to back up data wirelessly via Time Machine. To all those not already familiar with Time Machine the software allows you to make a full system backup at any point in time and restore files instantly. Now being able to do this wirelessly allows anyone with slim laptop for instance to backup anywhere with out having another cable plugged in. The iPod touch and iPhone both received new software today, including maps on location, SMS messaging, and Lyrics. the iTouch also now has Mail and iTunes store access as well. These software updates are on all now shipping products and is available as an upgrade for $20.00 to existing users. iTunes now has partnered with all Major movie studios to provide iTunes Movie Rentals. With an update to iTunes users can now buy a movie to rent. Prices are $2.99 for regular rentals, $3.99 for new releases and $4.99 for HD rentals. Once paid for the user has 30 days to start to movie and then 24 hours after to finish it. Rentals are available now at the iTunes store, just an update to iTunes is required to view. To go along with the iTunes rentals Apple also announced an update to the Apple TV. The Apple TV now includes HD support for HD movies. And to wrap up the event Steve introduced the newest Macbook, the Macbook Air. At it thickest point only coming up to 3/4" and carrying a 13.3" LCD screen the Air is the lightest and thinnest Macbook around. The Air comes with a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2GB of Ram on board, intel graphics and either a 80GB standard PATA hard drive or a 64GB Solid State Hard drive. The Air is mostly wireless, having only 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 Audio out, and 1 Magsafe power connection. There is no Superdrive in the Air, only a $99.00 USB version. The Air also has a feature that can pick up other superdrives from nearby Macs for installing software. The Macbook Air starts at $1,799.00 for the standard hard drive and then jumps to $3,098.00 for the Solid state hard drive.
